When the return trip runs heavier than the outbound, the expansion zip adds two inches of depth and you close it without sitting on it. No second bag, no gate-check.

The back panel carries an anti-theft pocket that only opens when the bag is off your shoulders — passport, phone, the things you'd rather not advertise on a crowded platform. A side USB port routes a cable from your power bank to your pocket, so you charge without unzipping anything.

A note on airline fit: the Voyager is an overhead-bin carry-on, not an under-seat personal item. Packed flat it sits inside the standard 22 × 14 × 9 in allowance; expanded, it gains two inches of depth. It's soft-sided and compresses, but we'd rather you know before you get to the gate.
